It's that time of the year again….summer camp! If you’re a parent of kids off at summer camp, you’re probably a few years into this process and might want to create a Summer Camp Care Package that’s more unique than the ones you’ve sent in previous years. Let’s see if we can help with this project.

Unique Summer Camp Care Package Ideas
Whether you’re a first time parent with kids in summer camp, or a veteran parent sending the kids off to have the times of their lives at sleep-away camp, care packages are part of the fun. However, as time goes by, the care packages become a bit boring. Let’s see if we can jazz them up, and surprise the kids at least ONCE over the summer!
Mad Libs
Who doesn’t love a good Mad Libs session? They even have special CAMP-themed ones for kids. It’s a sneaky way to have fun, but also keep the kids thinking about what nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are.
Some adults need the refresher sometimes, too. They can grab fellow campers and camp counselors to enjoy some fun, or just pick a friend to pass the time with camp-themed Mad Libs. Check out Amazon.com for some great options.
Fun Light-Up Pen
Kids will need something to use to fill out those Mad Libs, and a pen that lights up means they can do it by a campfire when they have those fun marshmallow roasting nights!
Hair Ties
No matter how many you packed in the first trunk/bag for camp, your kids will lose them and share them. Stock them up again with one of your care packages!
UNO
Kids can play this game with a smaller group, or a large one. The more players, the more fun. Nothing better than grabbing 7 friends and playing a competitive game with 8 players. Get ready to hear about all the crazy cheating that happened during games, because UNO brings out the worst in many people. Cut throat! (All in good fun, though.)
Graphic Novels
Kids love these things. It doesn’t matter what generation, for whatever Graphic Novels never go out of style. You just have to find out which ones your kid likes the most, and head out to your local bookstore and pick up a couple of books in the series.
Favorite Snacks
Sure, camps have snacks and goodies everywhere…. But, what about the all-time favorite ones that your kid loves, but aren’t super popular in all areas of the country? How many New York kids end up at a camp that’s not in New York and have to eat horrible bagels?
Send a couple wrapped up well in plastic wrap and foil! Surprise them, so they don’t have to suffer whilst away at their favorite camp.
Stuff they forgot
Doesn’t matter how many lists you make, and check off. Also doesn’t matter how many times you ask your kids if they are SURE they have packed everything. Something always ends up forgotten.
Surprise your kid by mailing it in their care package.
Personalized Pillow
Is your kid attached to your family pet? Or his own little pet he cares for? Surprise him with a pillow with his best buddy’s picture on it. He’ll have him all summer, and can show off his little buddy to all his camp friends.
Before heading out to drop them off at camp, make sure you’ve gone over your insurance policies. If they happen to take something of value to camp, your home owner’s insurance may, or may not, cover certain high-ticket items. Call your insurance agent to review exactly what’s covered on all of your insurance policies.
